We went sailing...on the widest river in the world...with people we met on the internet! In today's video, we're going to take you on a fun sailing trip on the River Plate, also known as the 'Río de la Plata' in Spanish. This river is formed by the confluence of the Uruguay and the Paraná rivers, which then empties into the Atlantic Ocean, and depending on who you ask, this body of water can be considered a river, an estuary, or the sea...

If you look at it as a river, it's actually the widest river in the world reaching a maximum width of 220 kilometres at its mouth!

The River Plate also forms the border between Argentina and Uruguay, so it's super quick and easy to cross by ferry, but that'll come in a later video.

This river sailing adventure all started with an Instagram message from a kind couple who watch our videos. Jorge and Mirta asked us if we'd be interested in joining them for a fun day on the water next time we were in Buenos Aires, so a big thank you to them for their kind invitation.

This was such a fun experience and we are so thankful to them for sharing their passion for sailing with us.
